Research Interests

I am PhD Candidate in Medical Physics at the University of Massachusetts. My research interests involve using radiomics to aid medical doctors in delivering patient-specific customized treatment. At present, I am working with Dr. Aerts to investigate how well 2D feature extraction compares against 3D feature extraction for lung cancer CT data. If the features extracted using 2D slices lead to the same level of predictive power as 3D feature extraction, computational efficiency in the radiomics pipeline could be greatly improved by sticking to 2D without compromising the quality of the extracted bioinformation.

I received my B.S. in Physics and Astronomy at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. For my senior year thesis, which won the Thesis of Distinction award, I worked in collaboration with NASA’s data archiving facility at STScI to develop criteria to characterize large astronomical datasets using Statistical Package R and SQL.
